There’s a good chance that by now you have heard of Rihanna’s highly anticipated makeup line, Fenty Beauty. After officially launching in September of 2017, the makeup line quickly sold out all across the globe, leading women of all walks of life on a serious mission to find some available product. Housed in Sephora, as well as online, her new makeup line promises products that will not only meet your beauty standards, but far exceed them, with makeup that is almost guaranteed to match any woman. As a beauty product junkie, I set out myself to test out some of her new products, and definitely found a few gems along the way. Here’s Fenty Beauty’s Must-Haves Products for Fall.
Pro Filt’r Foundation
As a makeup lover, I am beyond impressed with this line’s ability to closely match to almost any skin tone, especially for women of color. I’m probably beating a dead horse by just mentioning this, but trust me, it is not easy finding the right foundation for us brown girls. I can recall the years I have spent, trying to find the perfect match for my skin tone, only to have to end up mixing foundations, or settling on a color that a little too light or dark. As a medium brown woman, most product lines tend to jump from a very light brown to cocoa, leaving nothing for me to work with. With Fenty Beauty, those days are definitely gone! Recently I went to Sephora to test the product, and noticed that there were five different shades of women there for the same thing, and we were all able to be properly matched! No ashiness, no mixing of multiple colors.
If you’ve researched the product, you have probably heard that Rihanna’s foundation line alone offers over 40 shades, from albino all the way down to deep chocolate tones. Another great feature is the speedy oxidation of the product, which means it only takes one minute to see how much (if any) the foundation will change once it is applied. It is also sweat and humidity-proof, which means you will not have to worry about sweating all your makeup off. For $34, the cost is quite reasonable for the quality, and you truly will only need one full drop to get the coverage of your whole face that you need for the day. I have several friends and colleagues that have already purchased and tried the foundation, and dropped a few selfies for you to review below.
Fenty Beauty also offers several highlighters, as well as highlight duos that are extremely complimentary and will give you the extra pop you need. The highlighters come either wet or dry, although it appears some of the dry powder highlighters have really created all the buzz.
Enter the new highlighter on the scene, Trophy Wife. This highlighter is quite beautiful, yet dense, and offers a gorgeous gold with strong hints of shimmer and glitter in it. While it is her most popular highlighter out, it is also a highly noticeable one. Now don’t get me wrong, I loooove to practically dip my nose and upper cheek bones in some nice highlighter to give me that extra pop, but I personally believe this highlighter is more suitable for nights out on the town, red carpet events, or other special occasions. I actually chose to go with one of her duo highlighters since these colors are also beautiful and a little more relaxed. I purchased the “Girl Next Door” and “Chic Freak” combination, and am extremely pleased with the results! This highlighter is perfect for day-to-day wear, and you can always buy Trophy Wife for the nights you want your highlight to really pop!

If you are searching for a gloss that will keep your lips hydrated all day long, look no further. Rihanna has dropped her Fenty Beauty Floss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, and my whole life was changed. This gloss is extremely moisturizing to your lips, and will not need to be reapplied anytime soon after application. Another huge bonus is that although the gloss is thick, it is not sticky, so you will not feel like your lips have been sealed together. With it neutral hue, it is flattering on all skin tones, and is a perfect daily gloss to include in your makeup bag!
Match Stix Matte Skinstick
Makeup is just not complete without a subtle contour to complete the look, and Fenty Beauty made sure we had plenty of options to make it happen. What I love most about both her foundation and these skinsticks, is that they are matte, meaning that you don’t have to worry about having that super greasy look after application. For girls like me with combination skin, this is clutch. The range of colors vary from light to dark, so you can pair a highlighter and contour stick together, and blend with your best contour brush. I recommend always using a contour brush or sponge with these products, versus using your fingers. Your fingers accumulate tons of oil, which can create a breeding ground for unwanted acne. Use a brush, and be sure to blend well to avoid streaking!
I reached out to some amazing women who have tried Fenty Beauty’s makeup products, and dropped a few selfies below so that you can review for yourself:
